3D Simulation Technology Helps Patients Visualize Facial Procedures

January 5th 2010
Axis Three of Boston introduces its Face Simulation Module, designed to allow patients to visualize outcomes prior to cosmetic procedures.

The simulation module addresses chin, cheek, nose and jaw procedures and soon will include minimally invasive procedures such as dermabrasion, chemicals peels and Botox.

The Axis Three Face Simulation Module includes the XS-200 camera, a desktop unit designed to capture the face topology with a minimal hardware footprint.

The Company’s Tissue Behavior Simulation (TBS) technology allows surgeons to combine a patient’s individual body attributes with specific implants from manufacturer’s catalogues for more accurate visualizations of results prior to procedures. Through an exclusive licensing agreement, Axis Three has integrated patented image-capture technology developed by Siemens with its own proprietary software to create an intuitive platform that can be tailored to the surgeon’s needs.

“Generating patient awareness is a key part of this process,” says Alicia Recupero, Vice President of Marketing for Axis Three, in a press release. “We arm surgeons with extensive marketing support so they can show patients the innovative technology available to help them make the right decision prior to surgery.”
